Why migrate or upgrade to TYPO3?
An outdated CMS is not just an inconvenience – it is a security risk and slows you down in your daily work.
Many websites still run on TYPO3 versions that have long since reached their end of life. That means: no security patches, no new features, and rising costs as more and more extensions become incompatible. Migrating to TYPO3 v12 or v13 creates a solid foundation for the years ahead.
But switching from another CMS to TYPO3 is also worthwhile: if you are coming from WordPress, Joomla or Drupal and need more control, better editorial workflows and a scalable architecture for larger websites, TYPO3 is an excellent choice. I migrate all content, URLs and metadata cleanly so you suffer no SEO damage.
Problems with old systems
- No more security updates
- Extensions are no longer maintained
- Outdated PHP version required
- Slow, inflexible editorial workflows
- No modern API or headless options
Advantages of TYPO3 v12/v13
- Active security support until 2026+
- Modern backend with intuitive interface
- PHP 8.2/8.3 compatibility & high performance
- Headless & API support out-of-the-box
- Extended multilingualism & multisite
The Migration Process Step by Step
Every migration is individual – but the process is always clearly structured and transparent.
Analysis & Inventory
I analyse your existing installation: which extensions are in use, which content structures exist, which URLs and redirects must be retained. This results in a detailed migration plan.
Preparation & Staging
The migration takes place on a staging environment – your live website remains untouched and accessible throughout the entire process. I set up the new TYPO3 version and configure all necessary extensions.
Data Migration
All content, pages, images, documents and users are transferred to the new structure. For third-party platforms (WordPress, Joomla etc.), content is migrated via import scripts or TYPO3 importers.
Testing & QA
Before go-live I systematically check all pages, forms, redirects and functions. You get access to the staging environment and can test yourself and give feedback.
Go-Live & Aftercare
The launch is carefully planned: DNS changeover, cache warm-up and monitoring run in parallel. After go-live I am available for follow-up questions and quick fixes.
Supported Source Systems
I migrate from these systems to TYPO3 – or help you with an upgrade within TYPO3.
