Depending on the complexity of your application, it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Simple websites can often be updated the same day; more complex projects require more time for testing.
How much does a PHP update cost?
The cost depends on the scope of your application. The older the PHP version (e.g. PHP 5.6 to 8.x), the more adjustments are needed. After the analysis you will receive a transparent fixed-price offer.
How is the version updated?
I first adapt your code to the new PHP version, update all dependencies, test everything in a staging environment and then switch the PHP version on the server.
What happens without an update?
Security risks increase massively, performance remains suboptimal, and new plugins/libraries no longer work. Your hosting provider may also drop support.
